How long have you been doing CrossFit? 5 years
How did you first discover CrossFit and what made you decide to start?
Google search – looking in the mirror thinking I have to take better care of myself for my family.
Tell us about your fitness/sports background:
Played baseball, football, basketball through high school. Love to compete and push myself to the limit. Tried a lot of different programs. Love CrossFit because it’s a combo of HIIT and weights.
What sorts of positive changes (mental, physical, emotional) have you noticed in your life since getting involved at No Excuses?
Who or what keeps you coming back and motivated?
I’m more confident and fitting in clothes comfortably. I also enjoy the sense of family with the folks at the gym.
Competing, staying in shape and feeling confident.
In what other ways do you use your fitness?
Keeping up with the kids! Always on the move.
Please share with us a favorite CrossFit or No Excuses moment.
Competing in my first Hugo. Just finished a WOD and hanging around a circle with Bond and a few other folks. Bond cracked a joke about my hair bouncing up and down during single unders. lol.
Name one goal you would like to achieve in the next year (doesn’t have to be CrossFit related, but it can be): Get down to 205 bodyweight.
Tell us about your hobbies and interests outside of the gym:
Traveling, being with my family and anything Michigan sports.
What advice do you have for someone just starting CrossFit or is on the fence about starting?
Take it slow and don’t be afraid to ask questions. You won’t know unless you try it. You have nothing to lose by doing so.
What do you love most about No Excuses? “The family environment.”
