Each year at the CrossFit Games, they honor an athlete with the Spirit of the Games award. This honor goes to the ‘athlete who embodies the spirit of the sport.’
Each week during the CrossFit Open, No Excuses CrossFit will recognize a member it feels represents the Spirit of the Games. This week’s honor goes to ….
Emily Mount and Helen Miller went into CrossFit Open 26.2 never having done a chin-over-bar pull-up. They left the workout with a new personal record. Both athletes got their first pull-up and then knocked out even more.
“Got her first pull up. And then like 9 more,” No Excuses CrossFit coach Christine Doran said about Emily.
“Seeing Helen doing her first pull-up with 6 reps was fantastic,” No Excuses CrossFit member Tina Kao said.
Emily finished with 10 pullups and Helen 6 in the workout that included dumbbell overhead walking lunges, dumbbell snatch, and pull ups.
Congrats Emily and Helen on a workout milestone and many more to come in the CrossFit Open.
