How long have you been doing CrossFit? October 2023
How did you first discover CrossFit and what made you decide to start?*
Walking past a CrossFit workout in Dallas, TX in 2018. Moved to Suwanee and was looking for community and weight workouts.
Tell us about your fitness/sports background:
Gymnast though to High School. Tennis in my 20s and 30s. CrossFit late 50s!
What sorts of positive changes (mental, physical, emotional) have you noticed in your life since getting involved at No Excuses?
Experiencing the benefits of week to week commitment.
Who or what keeps you coming back and motivated?
The workouts are challenging, strengthening and possible. I feel good on my workout days, and I enjoy the days I don’t workout just as much!
In what other ways do you use your fitness?
I have a senior dog (15) who is no longer able to manage stairs. I live in a 3 story townhome, and I have no problem carrying him wherever he needs to go.
Please share with us a favorite CrossFit or No Excuses moment.
The day I first used a 20-inch box for box jumps. It took me most of the class to be willing to commit to it!
Name one goal you would like to achieve in the next year (doesn’t have to be CrossFit related, but it can be)
1 pull up by end of 2025
Tell us about your hobbies and interests outside of the gym:
Book discussions. Walking. Meditation. Friends and family. My 3 (adult) kids!
What advice do you have for someone just starting CrossFit or is on the fence about starting?
Begin! The positive results physically, mentally and socially are constant.
What do you love most about No Excuses?
The people.
