Body Transformations

As a former college football player, Brandon let his weight balloon out of control. It wasn’t until 2006 that he started to get his health back. He began running road races, doing CrossFit and eating a mostly Paleo lifestyle to lose 55 pounds and drop more than 15% body fat.

I’ve lost 35-40 pounds. The size of my pants went from 38/40 to 34/36. Dress shirts were XL/LG classic fit, now a LG/MED custom or slim fit. The challenge with slim fit is that it fits in the waist, but the chest and arms are too tight now. Last time I measured I was right around 19% body fat.

After having my first child almost nine years ago, I gained a significant amount of wight.  I struggled to stick with any fitness

regime. Running is painful (and harmful) for me because of past injuries, and I could not find any exercise plan that worked for me.  I was terrified to begin at No Excuses CrossFit, but I was talked into it.

I was terrified walking into my first Foundations class, and after observing some of the “real” WODs, and I was just as terrified about my first WOD after Foundations.  I was the last one to finish by a lot, but most of the class stayed to cheer me on.  I had pictured being yelled at when I struggled with a WOD, but instead, I was encouraged to keep up the good work.  Without this encouragement, I would have quit just like I had quit so many other attempts to get healthy. The community at No Excuses really sets it apart. I have made great friends here.  I often enjoy the WODS, but if it’s one I’d like to skip, I’ll often come anyway

because I enjoy being around people.  I’m a stay-at-home mom, and it’s a nice break for me too.  My youngest loves seeing her friends in childcare in the morning, and my two

older children love, love, love Crossfit Kids when they come with my husband in the evening. This place has been fantastic for my whole family,

I’ve lost 18 lbs. and six inches from my waist in the past 12 months, and I’m still losing.  I eat a paleo-ish diet (paleo about 75% of the time). My transformation hasn’t been super fast, but I’m pursuing health in a way that will last much longer than a fad diet.  I’ve embraced a healthy lifestyle, and I feel much better.  I recently tagged along on a business trip with my husband to Spain, and we were able to enjoy so many more of the sights because we were in shape. At the end of the day, other people were wiped out and achy from their explorations, but we were fine.  We commented to each other that we would not have been able to see or enjoy so much had we made that trip just a year earlier.

I have been crossfitting for almost 8 months now and so far have lost 15 lbs, 6 inches, and have gone down from a size 10 to a 6. I still have a ways to go, but am proud of the

accomplishments I’ve made so far! I am much stronger than when I first started, and my confidence increases in each and every workout. The results I am seeing are amazing, and I cant wait to see what more positive outcomes crossfitting will bring me! Thank you No Excuses!

When I started teaching, fast food and no exercise was my daily routine. Flash forward two years and I realized I was fat. 5 foot 4, 154lbs with high cholesterol I needed to make a change. In March I drastically changed my diet and went to the gym everyday. I lost 20lbs, but it wasn’t until July when I discovered crossfit that I turned weight loss into muscle gain, more energy, and increased strength. It is now 4 months after my first crossfit class and I can now deadlift 305lbs (over 200% of my current body weight) and climb to the top of that nightmarish gym class rope.
