In June of 2013, Dhillon took the leap into CrossFit—something he hadn’t considered before. “A customer at my sports nutrition store introduced me to CrossFit,” he recalls with a laugh, adding, “Thanks, bud!!” With absolutely no sports or fitness background—“ZIP, ZERO, NADA!” as he puts it—Dhillon’s decision to start CrossFit was a major shift in his lifestyle. But it was a decision that would profoundly change his outlook and daily life.

A Life-Changing Perspective

CrossFit has transformed more than just Dhillon’s physical fitness. “Just saying ‘No Excuses’ is in itself a big change,” he shares. Dhillon emphasizes that being part of No Excuses CrossFit has reshaped his mindset. “It has definitely changed my perspective towards life at every single stage of the day,” he adds. This newfound outlook gives Dhillon the energy and positivity he feels in all areas of life—whether at home, at work, or while enjoying his free time.

Staying Motivated

While Dhillon admits he doesn’t always feel motivated when he walks into the gym, that feeling never lasts long. “I am not that motivated when I walk into the gym, but when I leave, I am a different person—on top of the world!” It’s a sentiment many CrossFitters can relate to: the sense of accomplishment and euphoria that follows a hard workout, making the effort worthwhile every single time.

Fitness isn’t just about the time Dhillon spends in the gym. Inspirations and Favorite Moments

What keeps Dhillon inspired? “All the coaches, for sure, motivate me,” he says, praising their expertise and the assurance that they teach him the correct way to perform each movement. But not every moment in the gym is perfect. Dhillon remembers one particular incident that stands out. “Definitely not the day I fell off from the box jump and walked out of the gym bleeding…haha!” Even in moments of difficulty, Dhillon finds humor and growth, proving that every experience is a valuable part of the journey.

Goals and Advice for New CrossFitters

Dhillon’s fitness journey isn’t over yet—he’s got his sights set on some specific goals. “Strict pull-up. Also, not finishing up last in every WOD would be helpful,” he says with a smile. His candidness reflects his humble yet determined attitude.

Life Outside the Gym

When Dhillon isn’t at No Excuses, you’ll find him spending time with his “three young ladies”—his two daughters and his wife. “What else… travel, golf, play chess, and enjoy life!” he adds, showcasing the balance he’s found between fitness, family, and fun.

When asked what he loves most about No Excuses CrossFit, Dhillon’s answer is simple yet powerful: “Location…no, just kidding.
