Back in June 2007, Dimy was introduced to CrossFit by an unlikely source—a tennis coach. “It was hard,” Dimy shared, reflecting on those first challenging workouts that would spark a long-term commitment to fitness. Despite not having an official sports background, Dimy embraced the mindset of staying active and hasn’t looked back since.
Building a Mindset of Relentlessness
When asked about the changes experienced since joining No Excuses CrossFit, Dimy didn’t hesitate: “Relentlessness.” That one word encapsulates a drive and determination that extends far beyond the gym walls.
This mindset is about more than fitness; it’s a way of approaching life. “When I am 80 years old, I want to continue to live an amazing life,” Dimy said. That vision keeps the motivation alive, ensuring that each workout serves a greater purpose—building the foundation for a long and fulfilling future.
Fitness in Everyday Life
For Dimy, fitness isn’t just about lifting weights or hitting personal records. It’s about showing up in daily life with energy and focus. “As I sit at my desk and work, I can keep going without losing focus or throughput,” Dimy explained. The benefits of CrossFit extend into productivity and resilience, proving that physical fitness is deeply connected to mental performance.
The Challenge Seeker
Outside of the gym, Dimy’s hobbies and interests are as unique as the individual. “If it is challenging, and it aligns with my long-term goals, and it makes me ask the question, ‘Why on earth did I do this?’… then I am all for it,” Dimy said with a smile.
This adventurous spirit shows in future goals, too. When asked what’s next, Dimy’s answer was clear: “Sail.”
Advice for Beginners
For those new to CrossFit or unsure about starting, Dimy offers straightforward advice: “It will be hard… But if you truly want results, there is no better place to be.”
This honesty reflects the ethos of CrossFit itself—pushing limits, embracing challenges, and growing stronger along the way.
