Each year the CrossFit Games, they honor someone with the Spirit of the Games award. This honor goes to the ‘athlete who embodies the spirit of the sport.’

Each week during the 2017 CrossFit Open, No Excuses CrossFit will recognize a member it feels represented the Spirit of the Games. This week’s honor goes to ….

Nicole Wilkins almost didn’t sign-up for the Open this year. A variety of reasons almost kept the CrossFit veteran out of the Open. However, she was able to sign-up and 18.4 will be a long-lasting memory. Nicole got her first handstand pushup after years of failed attempts in previous Open workouts. She went on two get her second handstand pushup in the same workout.

“Five years is a lot of time to work on something and not get it,” No Excuses CrossFit coach Mathew Shamloo said. “But for her to go out and do it with this strict standard really shows how much the Open and the members inspire each other.”
